Maria Taylor is the first female full-time host of NBC Sports’ Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports.
A familiar face in households all over the world, Maria has hosted many of the most-watched events and programs in sports including College GameDay, NBA Countdown, NCAA College Football National Championships, the NBA Draft, the NFL Draft, the NBA Finals, NCAA Men’s and Women’s basketball tournaments, the Women’s Volleyball National championship, and Monday Night Football.
Following her move to NBC Sports in July 2021, she made her on air debut during live coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics just days after the end of the NBA finals, where she was the host of NBA Countdown. She went on to host the Super Bowl LVI Pregame Show, the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics and the men’s and women’s semifinals and finals of the 2022 French Open tennis tournament.
As a result of her efforts, she was named one of 2021’s “Most Powerful Women in Sports” by Adweek and was awarded a 2022 Gracie Award for Outstanding Broadcaster.
In addition to her hosting roles, Taylor is the executive producer of an eight-part documentary series on the history of the Black quarterback in the NFL which will be the first of many impactful documentaries to be produced by her company.
A proud double dawg, Maria is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and later earned her MBA from the Terry College of Business. One of her proudest moments was when Maria was asked to deliver the commencement address at her alma mater in May 2021, marking the 60-year anniversary of the university’s integration and in the process, honoring her beloved grandmother.
